Visiting Professor and Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at Ghent University, and Researcher at the University of South Bohemia. He is interested in understudied groups of fungi in understudied habitats. The groups to which he contributed most to date are the Laboulbeniomycetes and Leotiomycetes. Recent projects focus on biodiversity monitoring and experimental ecology.
