We are happy to let you know that we have just launched our second pan-European, synchronized sampling campaign, aimed also to boost DNA barcoding of records from citizen scientists. This year, we are not only continuing the projects started last year, but also launching new ones. Besides inviting you to sample specimens of specific species of interest, we also encourage you to record observations of more common species this time.

In the 2025 sampling campaign, we will open the following projects:
• Chroogomphus
• Dermatocarpon
• Eyes on alien mushrooms (with region-specific targets)
• Geastrum
• Hesperomyces
• Hygrophorus
• Hypomyces
• Mission: urban mushrooms (coming soon)
• Most wanted epigeous gasteroid fungi
• Paxillus
• Pine forest ectomycorrhizal fungi from following groups: webcaps (Cortinarius sensu lato), stiptate thelephoroid hydnoid, poroid fungi, knights (Tricholoma), fibrecaps (Inocybe sensu lato)
• Slime moulds from genera: Arcyria, Dictydiaethalium, and Dianema
• Tricholoma eucalypticum
• Truffle-like Russulaceae
• Tomentella (coming soon)
• Tulostoma
• Typification campaign, focused on searching for collections that can serve as nomenclatural and interpretive types, for fungal species currently based on ambiguous original material (also with region-specific targets)
